As of Release 4.0A, defining the
budget structure is supported by commitment item groups. You can select commitment items from the commitment item hierarchy and combine them into a group. During this process, the object indicators for the budget and account assignment (posting) are set.
You can now process a budget structure either in the same way as before or by referencing a commitment item group. If changes are made to the commitment item group, you can update the budget structure as well as the distributed and assigned values by using various programs.
To define commitment item groups, choose Budgeting -> Budget structure -> Cmmt item group -> Create in the Funds Management menu.
