Planning in EC-PCA using the "Planning Processor"

Description

In Release 4.0, the functions for entering plan data in Profit Center Accounting use the CO Planning Processor. This not only standardizes the planning screens and functions in CO and EC, but also increases the number of functions available for planning in Profit Center Accounting.

The Planning Processor provides you with a great deal of flexibility for defining your planning screens using such things as formulas. Moveover, you can also define template or comparison columns (such as plan data from another version or year, or actual data from any year) for use in planning.

In addition, you can now enter plan data for statistical key figures.

Change system parameters in customizing

You need to enter an exchange rate type and, if desired, a value date in the fiscal-year-dependent parameters of your plan versions. For more on this, see Basic Settings.

You maintain planning layouts separately for the two planning areas, "Costs/revenues" and "Statistical key figures" and enter these in your planner profiles. For details about how to define planning layouts, see Manual Planning.

Changes to the interface

You need to define special forms for planning costs/revenues and statistical key figures manually. These forms are called "planning layouts". These replace the functions for designing planning screens on the basis of planning parameters.

Once you have defined your planning layouts, you can enter them in planner profiles to help structure the planning process in your organization. A planner profile determines which layouts a planner can use and what default parameters he or she should receive.

The following sample planner profiles and planning layouts are contained in the standard R/3 System:

1. Profile SAP800: Planning by profit center group (central planning)
a) Layouts for the planning area "Costs/revenues":
a) Layouts for the planning area "Statistical key figures":
1. Profile SAP801: Profit center planning (decentralized planning)
