As a result of requirements from the retail sector (SAP Retail),
Release 4.0A includes new functions for the integrated use of
structured materials.
You can only use structured materials if you have implemented
SAP Retail.
A structured material is made up of several single materials
(components). The following are examples of structured
materials:
Set
A set is a grouping of materials
which is treated from the logistics viewpoint as a single material
and which therefore has its own material number, sales price and
sales price conditions.
Prepack
A prepack is a number of materials
grouped together, usually by the manufacturer or vendor, which is
purchased as one material and which has its own material number,
purchase price and purchase price conditions.
Display
A display is a number of materials
grouped together by the manufacturer or vendor which is purchased
as one material and which therefore has its own material number,
purchase price and purchase price conditions. A display can also be
broken down into its components, which can then be sold
individually.
