POS Interface - Outbound: New Functions in Retail

Description

As a result of requirements from the retail sector (SAP Retail), Release 4.0A includes the following new functions:

Of these, the following were not included in SAP Retail Release 1.2B:

In order to use the new functions you must ensure that 'WP_PLU02' is entered as the base IDoc category for message category WP_PLU in the outbound parameters of the EDI partner agreements (transaction WE20) for each of the stores (or partner numbers) which are to be supplied.

General POS interface - outbound functionality

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

You can provide master data, such as material data and prices, or movement data e.g. shipping notifications, for the store POS systems via the POS interface - outbound. The data is prepared for the POS interface - outbound as IDocs and is transferred to the store systems using ALE technology.

You can transfer the following data via the POS interface - inbound:

Dedicated download per store/material group

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

The data in the POS interface - outbound is specially prepared for each store, i.e. each store only receives those materials and prices which are relevant for it.

Count request for materials

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

If a sales price changes, the system checks whether stocks must be counted before the new price is activated in the store. If a count is needed, a flag is set in the IDoc.

Further condition types

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

You can define new condition types which contain scales. Scale information can now be taken into account at POS interface - outbound. However, you cannot yet maintain the scales in sales price calculation. Instead, you can use transactions VK11 and VK12.

Inclusion of free goods

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

It is now possible to include free goods conditions at POS interface - outbound.

Handling of structured materials

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

Separate IDocs are defined for sales sets and empties. Empties bills of material are modeled on follow-on items.
