Assortment List: New Functions in Retail

Description

As a result of requirements from the retail sector (SAP Retail), Release 4.0A includes the following new functions:

General assortment list control

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

This component allows you to create an assortment list, which gives current information about the materials contained in various assortments, such as purchase price, sales price, vendor, listing validity period, whether materials are involved in promotions, and so on. A user exit is also available so that you can specify additional data to be included in the list.

The assortment list can also be used as a wholesale price list or an authorized merchandise list. You can also send assortment information to suppliers or customers. You can create full assortment lists or change versions, the latter including only changes since the previous version. Detailed version management keeps track of current and expired (archived) assortment lists.

Download triggered via POS outbound processing

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

The system keeps track of all material-related master data and pricing changes. When download is triggered via POS outbound processing, all changes are marked and IDOC records are created. This allows you to export the data to other systems (such as store POS systems). You can define regular transmission cycles for creating the assortment list, or trigger the creation manually.

Replenishment planning via the assortment list

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

For stores that replenish stocks by manual inspection, the assortment list contains up-to-date information about materials in their assortments (for example, the merchandise category to which a material belongs, vendor from which a material can be procured, and ordering quantities.

Download of sales conditions

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

Sales conditions are included in the assortment list download.

Download of purchasing conditions

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

Purchasing conditions which are generated by the pricing calculation function are included in the assortment list download.

Support for structured materials

You can only use this function if you use

SAP Retail.

Structured materials (sets, generic materials and variants) are included in the IDOCs (intermediate documents) created during POS outbound processing. Individual components and variants, their characteristics and (optionally) descriptions are also included.

Change system parameters in customizing
