In Release 4.0, two new sales promotion types have been created:

This sales support document type has the following features:
This sales support document type has the following features:

There is a new field in the sales support document which indicates the direction of the document (inbound/outbound). This can be useful for statistical purposes. You control whether this field is displayed for a particular document type in Customizing.

Subsequent Processing in Create Mode

As of Release 4.0, you can perform subsequent processing such as creating an address list or sending an object in the create mode of a sales support document. When you choose the subsequent function, the sales support document is saved and you reach the requested function directly. In this case, the incompletion process is ignored irrespective of the settings in Customizing. If you do not want a document to be saved in this way, you can deactivate this function by maintaining the FC Exclude field in the corresponding sales support document type in Customizing.

Change system parameters in customizing

The two new sales promotion types have been preconfigured as follows:

A new status group 004 has been defined and assigned to this sales promotion type. This controls that the addresses are not deleted when the direct mailing is sent.
A new incompletion procedure 03 has been defined and assigned to the sales promotion type. This procedure controls that you can save the sales promotion without defining a follow-up activity.
Incompletion procedure requires a follow-up activity to be defined before you can save the document.
The text procedure does not require you to attach a correspondence.
A new output determination procedure and new output type (MAKO) have been defined and assigned to this sales promotion type.

For each sales support document type, you can specify the direction of the activity. You specify in Customizing whether this information should be displayed in the sales support document. For example, as sales promotions are always outbound, the Direction field does not need be displayed in the sales promotion document. However, a follow-up telephone call can be inbound or outbound, so the field is useful in this case.
