As Release 4.0A, new options are available to you for the efficient administration of scheduling agreements.
You can aggregate schedule lines, re-use numbers in the number interval for schedule lines that have become free, and aggregate the PO history.
There are three new sub-menus in the menu "Scheduling agreement -> Reorganize" for this purpose:
Re-number schedule lines
In the case of long-running scheduling agreements, it frequently
happens that the counter for the schedule line numbers reaches its
maximum level (i.e. the number interval is exhausted) because many
of the numbers used relate to schedule lines that have in the
meantime been deleted.
As of Release 4.0A, by re-numbering your delivery schedule lines you can caused the counter to be cleared by having the numbers relating to deleted schedule lines re-assigned. The counter then contains only consecutive numbers for relevant lines.
Using the field "Minimum usage level", you can specify for which
scheduling agreements the schedule lines are to be re-numbered.
Here you can enter a percentage, up to which the numbers of the counter for the schedule lines of a scheduling agreement must be used before the schedule lines are re-numbered.
Aggregating schedule lines
Over time, the number of schedule lines generated for a scheduling agreement item can build up to such an extent that it is difficult to maintain an overview of the complete delivery schedule, and system performance can suffer.
As of Release 4.0A, you can aggregate schedule lines. This
means, for example, that instead of getting a list of all the
individual schedule lines from January up to the current month
(June, perhaps), you can aggregate the quantity data on a monthly
or other time basis for all schedule lines that lie in the past and
for which delivery is complete.
In this way, when displaying or changing schedule lines, instead of an unnecessarily long list you obtain a shorter, clearer, one with a few compressed schedule lines at the top and more detailed part showing the still-open lines that are of current interest below.
If you wish, you can switch from the aggregated display at any time using the function "Decompress".
In the case of large volumes of data, start the data compression (aggregation) function in the background.
Aggregate purchase order history
You can select all scheduling agreement items with numerous PO history records and aggregate the data relating to closed transactions (i.e. all those in respect of which goods and invoices have been received) to form a totals record. (The compressed records are deleted from the relevant table and stored in a background table. If required, they can be re-loaded.)
During the aggregation of schedule lines and PO history records,
the system checks the user's authorization.
This check is new as of Release 4.0A. The activity is '65' (reorganize) and the authorization objects are "plant", "purchasing group" and "purchasing organization".
