Purchasing: External Services Management:
Formulas for Calculating Quantities

Description

As of Release 4.0A, formulas are available as an instrument for
the calculation of quantities in the procurement of externally
performed services.

Formulas have the following attributes:

They are freely definable.

Up to five variables can be defined, to which units of measure
can be assigned.

You can use common mathematical functions (such as sin, cos)
and constants (e.g. pi, e).

Example:

During the entry of services actually performed (here excavation
work), it is necessary for the person responsible to specify the
number of hours needed to dig a trench of a certain size and
shape.
In this case, the system can apply a formula to calculate the
number of man-hours on the basis of the trench dimensions.
