Sequence of consumption using LIFO and FIFO

Release 4.0A contains the following new functions for balance sheet valuation:

1. The term Method describes the method used to determine the sequence of consumption. A method can be given certain attributes in Customizing. The following attributes are new:
a) Valuation can be based on single receipts as an alternative to aggregated data for a month (LIFO and FIFO). The records for the single receipts can currently only be generated from a document extract.
b) Inventory can be valuated using the LIFO method based on monthly layers as an alternative to annual layers.
2. You can create a number of attributes for the layer versions in Customizing. You can, for example, create a link between the layer version and the method. Layers from one version can be copied to another version using a new program. This allows you, for example, to create valuation data during the fiscal year without any problem. Customizing the layer versions is optional.
3. You can define different valuation levels and valuation areas for LIFO and FIFO valuation.
4. You can create a long text and additional attributes for LIFO pools. An extended analysis of the pools can be carried out using these attributes. If required, you can change the composition of the pools. A new method has been developed for this (' Splitting/Merging').
5. The results of LIFO valuation can now also be updated in the material master. This enables integrated analysis of balance sheet valuation. The results of the LIFO pools are still unable to be updated in the material master.
6. As far as FIFO valuation is concerned, the receipt data can be compiled from the document extract as per the stock situation for every material.
7. Older layers can be aggregated using a new program.
8. All updates can also be made online, for example for test purposes.
9. You can transfer data from third-party system as READ DATASET or WORKSTATION UPLOAD.
