As of Release 4.0A, you can print the characteristic data for
materials in the production chain on a quality certificate.
The system evaluates the batch where-used list for this purpose
when it creates the certificate.
As a prerequisite, all materials must be maintained in batches
and the system must update the batch where-used list.
Stock transfers are not taken into consideration.
You can specify which materials will be considered in a list in
the certificate profile. If you want the inspection data to be
printed on the certificate, you can specify additional criteria for
each material to limit the selection of the inspection lots or
partial lots. If you want the system to read data from the batch
classification, you only specify the materials.
Two list are available for this purpose. One list applies to the
inspection data, while the other relates to the data from the batch
classification.
To help you enter data, the system has a function that you can use
to select materials from the BOM explosion.
The sequence in which you list the materials determines the
sequence in which the system searches the batches in the production
run for suitable characteristic data when it creates the
certificate.
To select the characteristics for which you want the system to
read the inspection data or batch data in the production chain, you
enter the corresponding data origins for the results or
specifications in the characteristics.
Master inspection characteristics always refer to the list of
materials for the inspection data, while the general
characteristics always refer to the list of materials for the batch
classification data.
If you know the material from which the data for a characteristic originates, you can specify this material in the characteristic.
When the system generates the certificate, it creates a batch where-used list for the certificate-relevant product. The number of batches the system finds is limited by the table of materials in the certificate profile. For the remaining batches, the system searches for specifications or values for the corresponding characteristics, based on the sequence specified in the certificate profile.
The function described in this release note only addresses the requirement for printing characteristics for materials in the production chain on a certificate. The function for passing on properties to subsequent batches (for example, for batch determination) is not covered in this release note.
