With Release 4.0A, the control of planned maintenance has been
made more flexible. The following variants of maintenance plans are
available:
Strategy-based maintenance plans
The maintenance strategy defines the
number and frequency of the packages.
Multiple counter maintenance plans
The assigned counter/time defines the
due date for the next call.
Single cycle plan (new for 4.0A)
You can now define a maintenance
cycle directly in the maintenance plan. This maintenance plan
corresponds to a strategy-based maintenance plan with exactly one
time-based or counter-based package. In this case, you no longer
have to create a strategy and you also do not have to perform the
assignment of operations for exactly this one package. The total
work contents of the task list entered are called up each
time.

For the different maintenance plan variants, there are three new
transactions for creating maintenance plans, for which only the
relevant entries are necessary:
