In Release 4.0 the following features in the project planning
board are new or have been changed .
You can design most graphic elements in the project planning
board as you like by using the Customizing
Wizard , found under
Settings. You can save the user-specific
settings, which can differ in each client.
Capacity loading for WBS elements can be represented as a Gantt
chart, a curve or as a report.
You can use filters to display only those objects on the
project planning board that interest you. For instance, you can
display only activities and milestones without taking the hierarchy
into account.
You can now display, create and delete activity elements in the
project planning board.
The sttucture of the Edit menu is no
longer centered on objects, but on functions. For instance to
create a WBS element you now choose Edit -> Create
->Create WBS element .
The functions for the detail screens for WBS elements and
network activities have been concentrated in the
Details menu. You use tabs to go from one
detail screen to another.
When you create an activity, you decide on the data entry
screen whether it is processed internally or externally or whether
it is a general costs activity.
Selecting and deselecting is according to objects. Objects that
have been highlighted (in color) can be selected by choosing
Edit -> Select -> Select highlighted
text.
You can now hide and show WBS elements.
You can hide or show activities and WBS elements that have a
deletion flag.
You can adjust the Gantt chart so that it completely fits into
the graph display area. To do so, choose Settings ->
Display -> Zoom in/zoom out.
The columns in the table area can be moved as you like.
Workforce planning can be called up by choosing
Goto -> Capacity levelling -> Workforce
planning .
Change system parameters in customizing
There are new possible settings in the project planning board
profile:
You can enter any value you like for the total float in the
"Critical from" field. Up to now the an activity was always marked
as critical if the value was zero.
In the field "ColumnIndent." you determine in which column the
hierarchy is displayed by indenting the text.
The field "Line height" determines the height of a line.
You can hide or show the free float or the total float
independently from another by setting the indicators "Show total
float" or "Show free float" respectively.
