Development and production system

When you configure a 2 system group, you can specify which R/3 System is the development system and which the production system. The transport route is generated automatically.

To configure the transport route for a development and production system, proceed as follows:

If you use the "Standard configuration" function, all previous configurations for all R/3 Systems are replaced by the standard settings. Development classes or transport layers which already exist or objects created in the R/3 System are deleted.

  1. In the graphical list editor, choose Configuration ® Standard config.
  2. The Change Transport Routes dialog box appears.

  3. Select Test and production system and choose Continue.
  4. Enter the names of your R/3 Systems and choose Continue.
  5. Your R/3 Systems and their transport routes are displayed in the graphical editor in the display area.

  6. Save the configuration.
  7. To check the transport route configuration, choose Configuration ® Check ® All systems.
  8. To distribute the transport route configuration to all R/3 Systems involved, choose Configuration ® Distribute.
  9. To activate the configuration, choose Configuration ® Activate ® In all systems.

When doing so, you must enter your user ID and password in all R/3 Systems that are to be changed.

The development and production system have been configured and are connected to each other by a transport route (consolidation route).

The transport route configuration was distributed to and activated in all systems involved.
