"Aggregation"

The aggregation must be described for basic key figures and key figures. The records with transaction data with complete keys are on the database. Therefore, it does not matter whether the character- istic values of these records are blank. Often, only one part of this key is displayed in the info system. Characteristics are summarized. Sometimes, several records of transaction data are assigned to this displayed part of the key. The records agree in all characteristics that have not been summarized. However, the records differ from one another in the complete key, with at least one characteristic value. The aggregation determines with which function the basic key figures (and the key figures) of the records, that are formed in the same key, are to be summarized (aggregated). Typically, the basic key figures are added. The aggregation function would then be 'SUM'. With the aggregation a distinction is made as to whether you aggregate charact- eristics with a time reference or whether other characteristics are aggregated. With non-cumulative values such as warehouse stock there is often the desire to sum the warehouse stock over various products and warehouses, but to form the average over the fiscal year and the periods. For the aggregation of characteristics without a time reference, the following aggregations are available:

Aggregation meaning
MAX Maximum
MIN Minimum
NOP No aggregation
SC+ Summation, if > 0
SC- Summation, if < 0
SUM Summation

The following aggregations are available for characteristics with a time reference:

Aggregation meaning
AVG average
CNT Counter
FIR First value
LAS Last value
MAX Maximum
MIN Minimum
NOP No aggregation
SC+ Summation, if > 0
SC- Summation, if < 0
STD Standard variance
SUM Summation
VAR Variance

If 'SUM' is not chosen for the temporal aggregation, a reference field must be entered. If a temporal aggregation should take place for fiscal year and period, '&PERI& with a characteristic of data type 'D' here.

Note

Inconsistencies can occur if the aggregation of basic key figures is changed, that are already used in calculated key figures.
Maintain the aggregation of the basic key figures before you create with these key figures. If you change the aggregation of basic key figures later, you should execute the function 'Check formula' in the maintenance of the dependent calculated key figures.
