A job is a general classification of work duties, such as Secretary, Manager, and so on. It is possible for many employees to have the same job classification. For example, there could be 20 people whose job is Secretary, eight whose job is Manager, and so on.
Jobs should not be confused with positions. Positions are the individual employee assignments or placements within a company, for example, Secretary of Marketing.
Jobs are areas of activity in a company which are described by tasks.
Examples include "secretary", "clerk", or "financial accountant".
Jobs can be created across organizational units.
