Activity Group

Definition

An activity group is a collection of activities – tasks, reports, and transactions – that you link and submit to the Profile Generator to create authority profiles.

Use

You then assign activity groups to certain organizational objects. These objects receive the authority profiles you have generated, authorizing them to perform transactions in the system. It is recommended that you assign activity groups to R/3 users, or to positions.

It is not recommended that you assign activity groups to organizational units. Every position assigned to that organizational unit receives the authority profile. You only assign activity groups to organizational units if you intend to create a general authority, such as print.

Structure

Activity groups contain functions such as reports, transactions, and tasks.

Integration

They are also linked to authority profile, and responsibility. An authority profile is created using Profile Generator. It designates the user’s authorities in the system. Responsibilities allow you to differentiate the authority profiles you create.
