Creating a Responsibility and Using the Criteria Editor

Before creating a responsibility, you must create a container definition. Remember that the values in the role container at runtime must either match or be within the range of those criteria defined for the responsibility. This is because at runtime, role resolution compares the two sets of values in order to return a list of possible agents.

Creating a Responsibility

On the Create Standard Role screen:

  1. Under Role definition, choose Responsibility.
  2. The Responsibility: Change screen appears.

  3. Choose the parent object (the role you are creating), and Create.
  4. The Create Responsibility screen appears.

  5. Enter the name and validity data of the responsibility.
  6. The Responsibility Change to Standard Roles screen appears. This is the criteria editor.

  7. Define the values (either a single value or a range) and save.
  8. If you decide not to check all criteria for a given responsibility, leave this line blank.

The staus LED will become yellow to remind you that some of the criteria of the standard role are not checked for this responsibility.

Using the Criteria Editor

On the Responsibility: Change screen, choose the responsibility you want to edit, and choose Change. The Responsibility Change to Standard Roles screen appears. You can:
