Control Data Distribution

There are two important aspects of control data distribution:

Control data is all the data that is configured in Customizing.
It includes, for example, the organizational units (company code, division, plant), units of measurement and many other parameters that have to be set in the system.

There are certain areas in which Customizing has to be identical in both systems before data can be exchanged between them.

ALE allows you to define a central maintenance system in your distributed systems, in which certain control data objects are centrally maintained. Control data is sent as required from the central system to the other systems.

There are some exceptions where you can define more than one central system.
