Define period modifiers

In this step, you define the necessary period parameters for payroll intervals. The period parameter determines the period in which payroll accounting is carried out (for example: once a month, once every two weeks, once a week).
If you have already set up period parameters in Personnel Administration, you need only check them here.

You define a period parameter for monthly payroll runs and a further parameter for weekly payroll periods.

Standard settings

The standard system contains the entry "01" for monthly periods. In this case the payroll period corresponds to the calendar month, i.e. from the first to the last day of the month.

Define as few period parameters as possible. Do not change the entry "01" for monthly payroll periods.

1. Define a period parameter for every period in which a payroll run is carried out.
2. Assign an appropriate mnemonic text to every period parameter.
3. A time unit must be assigned to every period parameter. The following values can be used as time units:

01 monthly
02 twice-monthly
03 weekly
04 two-weekly
05 four-weekly
06 annually
07 quarterly
4. Specify an earliest begin date for every period parameter. This date can also be further back in the past (e.g. 01.01.1992).

Further notes

In most European countries, only monthly payroll periods are allowed. In this case, you only need one period parameter.
