Configuring Traces


If a document could not be sent or received, you can configure a trace to investigate the cause of the problem.


  1. Select Tools ® Administration ® Administration ® Process technology ® Communication ® SAPconnect
    The SAPconnect administration screen is displayed.
  2. Select Goto ® Trace
    It is possible to activate the trace, deactivate the trace or define a ‘Continue only’ option which initiates a trace only for documents for which a trace has already been created.

The trace can be displayed and analyzed in the R/3 System. In addition, the trace can be saved to file and, for example, sent to the SAP Hotline for further analysis when trying to find the cause of an error.
