Changing the Configuration of an R/3 System

Once you have included an R/3 System in the transport domain, you can change the following settings on the domain controller at any time:

To change the configuration of an R/3 System, proceed as follows:

  1. Log onto the R/3 System acting as the domain controller.
  2. Call transaction STMS.
  3. Choose Overview ® Systems.
  4. This takes you to the system overview.

  5. Position the cursor on the R/3 System whose configuration you want to change.
  6. Choose R/3 System ® Change. The Change TMS Configuration: System <SID> screen is displayed, in which you can make the changes.
  7. The short descriptions of the transport domain, groups, and the R/3 Systems are stored for the specific language. If you change a text, you change this text for the language in which you have logged on.

  8. Save your changes and distribute the configuration changes to all R/3 Systems in the transport domain (see: Distributing the Transport Domain Configuration).

If the host name or the system number of the R/3 System serving as the domain controller changes, you have to set the new address of the domain controller on all R/3 Systems in the transport domain. To do this, proceed as described above. The only change the system allows you to make outside the controller is adapting the RFC address of the controller.

Avoid these manual actions by configuring a Backup Controller and activating it before you change the domain controller.
