Simulating Batch Records (PP-PI)

You can simulate batch records at the following locations in the system:

Prerequisites

The batch for which you want to create the batch record meets the following requirements:

Unlike batch record archiving, process order and inspection lot processing must not have been completed when you simulate the batch record. That is, the order status Technically completed and the inspection lot status Lot locked for batch record must not have been set.

Simulating Batch Records With Header Record

  1. As required, choose
  2. – On the initial screen for batch maintenance Environment ® Batch record ® Change header record

    – On the application menu for process orders Tools ® Process data doc. ® Batch record ® Change header record

  3. Enter the criteria for batch selection and choose Program ® Execute.
  4. Position the cursor on the batch you want to process and choose Change document.
  5. In the Applications group box, choose Display.

Simulating Batch Records Without Header Record

  1. As required, choose
  2. – On the initial screen for batch maintenance Environment ® Batch record ® Simulate

    – On the application menu for process orders Tools ® Process data doc. ® Batch record ® Simulate

  3. Enter the criteria for batch selection and choose Program ® Execute.
  4. Position the cursor on the batch you want to process and choose Edit ® Batch record.

Simulating Batch Records Within Batch Master Records

In the batch master record, choose Environment ® Batch record ® Simulate.

Simulating Batch Records During Usage Decision

When processing or displaying the usage decision, choose Extras ® Batches ® Batch record ® Simulate.

Result

The system simulates the batch record based on the current data, that is, the print list is displayed but not saved. The page header of the record tells you that it is a simulation.

You can print the simulated record by choosing Batch record ® Print list.
