Define User-Defined Message Types

In this step you can change the message type of certain messages to a different message type than is defined by the system. This enables you to customize how the message is handled by the system.

For some messages there are no restrictions on the message type. Other messages require a minimal message type.

Example

Message KZ 417 ("No overhead could be calculated for cost object") does not require a minimal message type.

Standard settings

The standard system contains user-defined message types in different work areas. For cost object controlling with intangible goods, the only relevant messages are those for the calculation of overhead (KZ 410, KZ 411, and KZ 417).

Activities

To change the default message type:

1. Choose New entries.
2. Enter the work area in which the message is issued (such as KKP for Cost Object Controlling).
3. Enter the work area (such as KZ) and the message number (such as 410).
4. Press F4 and choose a message type (such as Warning).
