Archiving-Object-Specific Customizing (CO-CEL)

Use

Before you start the archiving program, you must maintain various settings, such as the size or the archive file, as well as variants for the test run and productive run of the deletion program.

Features

Archive Files

You must specify the size of the archive files in megabytes and the maximum number of data objects. SAP recommends a value of between 10 and 100 megabytes and between 10 and 100 data objects.

Variants for the Deletion Program

You have to enter variants for the test run and the production run of the deletion program.

Check that the Test run indicator is not active in the variants for the productive run. If Test run is active, the system does not delete the archived records from the database.

You must also ensure that Test run is active in the variants for the test run of the deletion program.

Commit Counters

The commit counter determines the number of data objects that are processed before the program sends a commit to the database. SAP recommends a value of between 10 and 100. This value has a direct effect on system performance.
