The Potentials Sub-Profile

Definition

The Potentials sub-profile creates a relationship between the following objects:

Objects:

Can be related to the objects:

Work centers

Persons

Jobs

External persons

Positions

Applicants

Tasks

Users

Qualifications

Use

You can use the Potentials sub-profile to forecast the suitability of objects (such as persons), and their potential for and direction of development. Potentials can be taken into account in career and succession planning scenarios.

One of the clerks in your personnel department obtains ‘personnel management’ qualifications. Presumably, she will attend further training events and eventually have the qualifications required for the position of Department Manager. The potential for the position Manager of Personnel Dept. is assigned to her.

Structure

The object type and name are displayed for every relationship.

You can specify a validity period for every potential.

Integration

You can also set up a Potentials sub-profile for object types other than those for which standard settings have been made. For further information about defining profiles, refer to the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Personnel Development (step: Functions ® Define profile view).
