Once you have completed career or succession planning successfully, this function enables you to designate objects for a position. When you designate a person (applicant, and so on) for a position, you are in effect storing information in the system and stating that the person is suitable for the position and could be transferred to it when it becomes vacant.

You can designate several objects for one position and evaluate the candidate pool using Succession Planning. You create designations as part of a career or succession planning scenario.
