Evaluating a Career Plan

Prerequisites

You must already have carried out a career planning scenario. You must be on the Career Planning screen, and the career plan or ranking list must be on display.

Displaying the Planning Object’s Profile

To display the object’s profile, position the cursor in the header data area of the career plan, and choose Goto ® Profile.

The <Object type>: Display Profile <Data selection period> screen appears, displaying the profile.

Displaying the Profile of an Object in the Career Plan

To display the profile of an object in the career plan, position the cursor on the object in question, and choose Goto ® Profile.

The <Object type>: Display Profile <Data selection period> screen appears, displaying the profile.

Performing Profile Matchups

To match up the qualifications of the planning object with the requirements of an object in the career plan, position the cursor on the entry in question, and choose Goto ® Profile matchup.

The Profile Matchup screen appears. The system displays the qualifications and requirements. Essential requirements and alternative qualifications are flagged as such.

Matching Up the Profiles of All the Objects in the Ranking List

Prerequisite: You must be on the Career Planning screen, and the ranking list must be on display.

Choose Goto ® Profile matchup (all).

The Profile Matchup screen appears. The system displays the qualifications and requirements of all the objects in the ranking list.

Displaying Qualification Deficits

Prerequisite: You must have performed a profile matchup, and be on the Profile Matchup screen.

  1. Choose Settings ® Editing options.
  2. The Profile Matchup dialog box appears.

  3. Select the Qualification deficits only field.
  4. Choose Transfer.

This takes you back to the Profile Matchup screen again. The system displays only qualifications and requirements for which qualification deficits exist.

Displaying Training Proposals

Prerequisite: You must use the Training and Event Management component.

  1. Perform a profile matchup as described above.
  2. If a qualification does not meet a requirement and there is a training course (business event) that would impart the missing qualification, the system displays the Training proposal icon and the name of the business event.

  3. To book the person onto the business event, choose Edit ® Book business event.

Displaying a Career

Position the cursor on the career you want to display, and choose Goto ® Career.

SAP Network Graphics starts, and the career is displayed on the Display Career Items screen.

Creating a Designation for a Position

Position the cursor on the position that you want to designate, and choose Planning ® Create ® Designation.

The career planning object is designated for the position you selected.

Creating Preferences and Potentials

Select the object for which you want to record preferences or potentials, and choose Planning ® Create ® Preference or Potential.

The preference or potential is added to the corresponding sub-profile of the career planning object.

Transferring a Person to a Position

  1. Position the cursor on the position to which you want to transfer the person.
  2. Choose Planning ® Transferral.
  3. The Assign Holder screen appears:

  4. If necessary, change the staffing percentage and the relationship period.
  5. Save your entries.

You have transferred the person to the position for the specified period.
