Create transport routes

In the graphical editor, all R/3 Systems in the transport domain are listed in the Insertable objects area.

Before you can create the transport routes, you must fetch the R/3 Systems to be configured from the Insertable objects area by clicking the mouse and position them in the display area by clicking the mouse again.

To create the transport routes, proceed as follows:

  1. In the graphical editor, choose Configuration ® Transport routes ® Create.
  2. The mouse pointer becomes a stylus.

  3. Click on an R/3 System and hold the mouse button down.
  4. Drag the stylus to the R/3 System with which the first R/3 System should be connected and release the mouse button.
  5. The Transport Route Attributes dialog box appears.

  6. Select Consolidation route or Delivery route.
  7. If you want to create a consolidation route, enter a name in the Transport layer field: Z<sid> (<sid> - name of the development system).

Transport layers that do not exist are created automatically. Another way of creating a transport layer is Configuration ® Transport layer ® Create. In the graphical display, transport layers can only be seen if they have a transport route.

  8. Choose Continue.
  9. If you selected Consolidation route, enter a short description in the Transport Route Attributes dialog box and choose Continue.

This takes you to the graphical editor, where the transport route created is shown in the display area.

Use this procedure to create all the necessary transport routes.

  10. When you have finished, click anywhere in the display area.
  11. Save the transport route configuration.
