Maintain Process Assessment

In this IMG activity you determine rules in the form of cycles for the allocation of primary and secondary costs of business processes on objects or other actual business processes.

Example of a Process Allocation Cycle

Create an actual allocation cycle:

1. Determine a name for the cycle.
2. Determine a validity period for the cycle.
Alternatively, you may enter a sample cycle. The R/3 System adopts the data from the sample for the new cycle.
3. Maintain the header data for the cycle:
a) Whether to scale negative tracing factors
b) The currencies used in allocation
c) The delta version used in allocation
4. Define cycle segments with the following information:
a) The criteria for selecting the costs on the sender; that is, the rule according to which the sender values are to be calculated (such as posted or fixed amounts) as well as the percentage of sender values to be allocated and the indicator showing whether plan or actual values are to be allocated
b) The criteria for apportioning the costs on the receiver(s); that is, the rule for tracing factor calculation (such as fixed quotients, fixed percentage rates, etc.) as well as the tracing factors
To maintain the tracing factors yourself, choose "Tracing factors".
c) Sender objects (single values or groups)
d) Sender cost element to be allocated
e) Sender values, by choosing "Sender values"
f) Receiver objects (single values or groups)
g) If necessary, the attributes of the receiver process(es)
5. Save the cycle.

Note on transport

For the transport of settings for Activity Based Costing, an individual function is available in the IMG for "General Controlling".
