The internet application component "Product Catalog" together
with the internet transaction server allows you to access product
catalog data using a Web browser.
In this step you configure how file names for graphics and sound
documents used in the internet application component are
Data carrier type:
Graphics and sound documents must be created as documents in the
Document Management System.
Reference can be made to one or two files per document. The files
are characterized by the values "data carrier" and "original".
To determine the access path, the mount point/logical drive for the
data carrier is linked to the entry under original.
In doing so, the system must know via which mount point/logical
directory it can access the data carrier. The mount point/logical
directory depends on the data carrier type of the computer from
which access is made.
In the field "Data carrier type of Web server" enter the data
carrier type that is to be used for determining the mount point
from your HTTP server.
Please also make sure that in the General
Data step in the Document Management System you have
maintained the mount point/logical directory for this data carrier
type and for the data carrier you use for the files.
From your HTTP server you can access the graphics and sound
documents on directory "/sap/its/pictures/WW10+WW20". The graphic
file "hardware.gif" is stored there.
This file is referenced in a document using the values "data
carrier"="DOCSERV" und "original"="hardware.gif".
You enter the data carrier type of the web server as "WS" and make
sure that the mount point/logical directory
"/sap/its/pictures/WW10+WW20/" exists for the data carrier type
"WS" and the data carrier "DOCSERV".
A data carrier does not have to be entered for the files in
Document Management. If you enter no data carrier, however, you
must enter the complete access path from the HTTP server in the
WA Large picture/ WA Small picture/ WA Sound file:
In the internet application component, the following multi-media
components are possible per shop and material: a large picture, a
small picture and a sound file.
For the system to determine which file carries out which function
(large picture, small picture, or sound file), it reads the
workstation application (WA) of Document Management.
In the field WA Large picture, WA Small picture, WA Sound file,
enter which WA is used for which function. The WAs must have been
created in the
Data step of the Document Management System.
The standard version contains the following entries:
WS-Data carrier type WS Web server
WA Large picture LIM Large picture
WA Small picture SIM Small picture
WA Sound file SND Sound
You can either use the standard entries or create you own. In
both cases you must ensure that the data carrier type used and the
workstation applications used are maintained in the
