Simulating the Retirement Liquidation for the Current Period

A retirement liquidation for current period simulation mimics the actual results of a retirement liquidation for current period run without locking records or effecting actual data.

  1. Select Human resources ® Payroll.
  2. The payroll options screen is displayed.

You must specify the personnel country grouping and payroll accounting area for which the simulated retirement liquidation run will be performed.

  3. Enter the personnel country grouping and payroll accounting area for which the simulated retirement liquidation run is to be performed.
  4. You may already have set the personnel country grouping and payroll accounting area when you entered your user parameters.

  5. Select Off-cycle ® Retirement.
  6. The retirement accounting options screen is displayed.

  7. Select Retire. liquidation ® Simulation ® Retire. period. You see the payroll options screen.
  8. In the Pay period field (payr.area/PP/YYYY), enter the following information:

    – Payroll accounting area

    – Period

    – Year

In these fields, the system enters default values taken from the payroll control record. The payroll accounting area determines the time period, not personnel numbers. You can overwrite the default values.

Although similar to Off-cycle payroll, retirement liquidation takes the field payroll accounting area into account. However, the payment date is taken from the field Special run. Therefore, the payment indicated in the payroll accounting area is to be processed on the date set in the field Special run.

  9. In the field Personnel number, enter an individual personnel number or range of personnel numbers.
  10. In the field Payroll accounting area, enter an individual payroll area or range of payroll areas.
  11. If you make entries in both the Personnel number and the Payroll accounting area fields, only the employees that match the values in both fields are selected. Enhanced selection options are available for the fields Personnel number and Payroll accounting area. Refer to the description of the standard selection screen.

  12. Field Special Run should be used only with Off-Cycle payroll accounting.
  13. – The first and second field are not used in retirement liquidation, and are normally preset, when retirement liquidation for current period is selected from the retirement liquidation menu.

    – For the third field, specify the Payment day.

If necessary, in the field Forced retroactive accounting as of, enter a date for the retroactive accounting run

In the field Program options, if you set the parameter Test run, the results of the retirement liquidation run are not saved. Therefore, you must always set the parameter Test run for a simulated retirement liquidation run.

  14. Select Program ® Execute.
  15. A log is displayed when the retirement liquidation run is complete.

  16. Use the log to check that the results of the simulated retirement liquidation run are correct and that employees were not rejected.
  17. If necessary, change master data entries for rejected employees and simulate the retirement liquidation run again.

The system stores employees rejected by the retirement liquidation run in a separate list (matchcode W). If you want to perform a second simulation run for the employees rejected by the first simulation run only, then, to start the payroll program using matchcode W, in the Personnel number field, enter W.1 .

The retirement liquidation for the current period is simulated.
