Starting Retirement Liquidation for the Next Period

Starting the payroll run calls up a country-specific payroll driver which then performs a complete retirement liquidation run for the selected employees in accordance with settings in a country-specific schema.

  1. Select Retire. liquidation ® Start payroll ® Next period with YEA.
  2. In the Pay period field (payr.area/PP/YYYY), enter the following information:

    – Payroll accounting area

    – Period

    – Year

In these fields, the system enters default values taken from the payroll control record. The payroll accounting area determines the time period, not personnel numbers. You can overwrite the default values.

Although similar to Off-cycle payroll, retirement liquidation takes the field payroll accounting area into account. However, the payment date is taken from field Special run. Therefore, the payment indicated in the payroll accounting area is to be processed on the date set in the field Special run.

  3. In the field Personnel number, enter an individual personnel number or range of personnel numbers.
  4. In the field Payroll accounting area, enter an individual payroll area or range of payroll areas.
  5. If you make an entry in both the Personnel number and the Payroll accounting area fields, only the employees that match the values in both fields are selected. Enhanced selection options are available for the fields Personnel number and Payroll accounting area. See the description of the standard selection screen.

  6. Field Special Run should be used only with Off-Cycle payroll accounting.
  7. – The first and second field are not used in retirement liquidation, and are normally preset, when retirement liquidation for next period is selected from the retirement liquidation menu.

    – In the third field (Payment day), enter the payment day

If necessary, in the field Forced retroactive accounting as of, enter a date for the retroactive accounting run which you would like to trigger

  8. Select Program ® Execute.
  9. A log is displayed when the retirement liquidation run is complete.

  10. Use the log to check that the results of the retirement liquidation run are correct and that employees were not rejected.

If personnel numbers are rejected or not selected do not exit the payroll program. Instead, you must check the payroll results and correct master data and time data for the appropriate personnel numbers where necessary.

The retirement liquidation for the next period is started.
