Simulating the Retirement Allowance Payroll

Prerequisites

A retirement allowance payroll simulation mimics the actual results of a payroll run without locking records or affecting actual data.

Procedure

  1. Select Human resources ® Payroll.
  2. The payroll options screen is displayed.

  3. Enter the personnel country grouping and payroll accounting area for which the simulated retirement allowance payroll run is be performed.
  4. You may already have set the personnel country grouping and payroll accounting area when you entered your user parameters.

  5. Select Off-cycle ® Retirement.
  6. The retirement accounting options screen is displayed.

  7. Select Retire. allowance ® Simulation.
  8. The payroll options screen is displayed.

You do not make an entry in the Pay period field (payroll area/PP/YYYY) for the retirement allowance payroll. In the Off-cycle payroll, it does not make sense to specify the payroll accounting area, which indicates the accounting period. Use the field Payment day instead.

  9. In the field Personnel number, enter an individual personnel number or range of personnel numbers.
  10. In the field Payroll accounting area, enter an individual payroll area or range of payroll areas.
  11. If you make entries in both the Personnel number and the Payroll accounting area fields, only the employees that match the values in both fields are selected. Enhanced selection options are available for the fields Personnel number and Payroll accounting area. Refer to the description of the standard selection screen.

  12. Field Special Run should be used only with Off-Cycle payroll accounting.

– In the second field specify R, to indicate retirement allowance payroll. The first two fields are usually set, when you choose retirement allowance payroll.

– In the third field (Payment day), enter the payment day.

The field Retroactive accounting date is not used in the retirement allowance payroll run.

In the field Program options, if you set the parameter Test run, the results of the retirement allowance payroll run are not saved. Therefore, you must always set the parameter Test run for a simulated run.

  1. Select Program ® Execute.
  2. A log is displayed when the retirement allowance payroll run is complete.

  3. Use the log to check that the results of the simulated retirement allowance payroll run are correct and that employees were not rejected.
  4. If necessary, change master data entries for rejected employees and simulate the retirement allowance payroll run again.

The system stores employees rejected by the retirement allowance payroll run in a separate list (matchcode W). If you want to perform a second simulation run for the employees rejected by the first simulation run only then, to start the payroll program using matchcode W, in the Personnel number field, enter W.1 .

Result

The retirement allowance payroll is simulated.
