Creating IDocs in Packets

If you directly send master data a function module creates an IDoc for each master data object, for example, material. In most cases more than one master data object can be passed to the function modules for IDoc creation.

If you send master data directly, you can pass more master data objects in each process, as a guide between 20 and 30. This reduces the number of dialog processes used and the administrative task load of the R/3 System.

Packet processing and parallelism complement each other, although in some situations they may compete with each other. If there are too many master data objects in each process, possibly not all available dialog processes will be used.
